Breaking Barriers: Amna Al-Qubaisi Takes the Wheel

This weekend, Emirati driver Amna Al-Qubaisi, 25, makes history as the first woman to compete in the pro class of Porsche Carrera Cup Asia at the Shanghai International Circuit.

She represents a new generation of Middle Eastern women redefining leadership in high-performance arenas.

Al-Qubaisi, the daughter of former racing driver Khaled Al-Qubaisi, built her career through international single-seater championships before transitioning to GT racing. In 2019, she became the first Arab woman to win a single-seater race during a Formula 4 UAE Championship event at Yas Marina Circuit, marking a milestone for women in regional motorsport.

Having seen Amna grow in the racing world from a young age around Yas Marina Circuit, it has been remarkable to watch her progress year after year. Her journey from a promising young driver to competing on some of the world’s biggest stages reflects dedication, resilience, and the growing presence of Emirati women in global sport.

From competing in Italian Formula 4 Championship and Formula Regional Asian Championship to securing race wins in F1 Academy, Al-Qubaisi has steadily built a reputation for determination and adaptability. Her selection for the Porsche Talent Pool Asia made her the first Arab woman to join the initiative.

Her journey reflects the broader rise of Emirati women on the global stage—demonstrating how talent, ambition, and opportunity are driving a new era of female leadership from the UAE.
