Pirelli and Denis Dekovic Turn Formula 1 Podium Caps Into Collectible Cultural Icons
From pit lane to runway, how motorsport is influencing global fashion trends.
In Formula 1, the podium cap is usually a fleeting symbol of victory, worn for a few minutes amid champagne sprays and flashing cameras. But in the 2026 season, Pirelli has turned that tradition into something more lasting through a renewed collaboration with designer Denis Dekovic.
Together they created a series of 15 special-edition podium caps for selected races across the Formula One calendar. Each design celebrates the culture and visual identity of the Grand Prix host nation, blending motorsport heritage with fashion-led design. Through carefully chosen colours, materials and embroidery, the caps transform a simple podium accessory into a storytelling piece tied to each race location.
The collection debuted earlier this season at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, held at the Albert Park Circuit.
The cap featured a deep blue crown inspired by the Australian national flag, creating a strong visual connection to the host country. White embroidered stars across the crown referenced the Southern Cross constellation, an iconic feature of the southern hemisphere night sky and a symbol prominently displayed on Australia’s flag.
Beyond the podium, the caps are also available to fans through Pirelli’s official online store, turning a race-day moment into a collectible lifestyle item. The strategy reflects Formula 1’s growing crossover with fashion and design, where merchandise increasingly blends sport, culture and premium branding.
With 14 more designs set to appear throughout the season, the collaboration effectively turns the global Formula 1 calendar into a series of wearable tributes—each cap capturing the identity of a different Grand Prix destination.
More than a tyre brand, Pirelli continues to position itself as a symbol of racing culture and design—a lifestyle shaped by speed, innovation and global style
