Abu Dhabi, January 2026: The 2026 Formula Regional Middle East Championship launches this weekend (January 16–18) at Yas Marina Circuit with a 32-driver international grid, reinforcing the region’s role as a winter hub for motorsport development.
The four-round, 12-race championship begins with two rounds in Abu Dhabi before moving to Dubai Autodrome and concluding at Lusail International Circuit on February 11–13.
This season also marks the competition debut of the Tatuus T-326, a next-generation Formula Regional car designed to set new benchmarks in performance and safety for junior single-seater racing.

Building a Pathway to Formula One
According to Davide Gobbi, Top Speed CEO, the championship was designed to provide young drivers with valuable race experience during the winter months while preparing for the European racing calendar.
“Our vision was to build a professional platform where young drivers could gain experience, work with top teams, and race in competitive conditions during the winter,” Gobbi said.
He noted that the championship has grown significantly in recent years.
“The series is growing every year and is becoming a real reference for young drivers worldwide who want to build their path toward Formula One,” he said.
Under the leadership of TOP SPEED, the series has developed into a key stepping stone in the single-seater ladder from Formula 4 toward Formula 3 and beyond.
A Magnet for Global Talent
Leading teams including Prema Racing, ART Grand Prix, R-ace GP, Rodin Motorsport, Trident Motorsport, MP Motorsport, and Van Amersfoort Racing use the championship to develop emerging drivers.
Young talents such as Kean Nakamura-Berta, Sebastian Wheldon, Salim Hanna, and defending champion Evan Giltaire highlight the international depth of the field, while UAE driver Rashid Al Dhaheri represents the growing regional talent pool.
A Strategic Motorsport Hub
Beyond competition, the championship also carries a strong commercial dimension. With international teams, sponsors, and global media coverage, the series is increasingly attracting investment and corporate partnerships while boosting sports tourism in the region.
By combining elite racing, advanced technology, and world-class venues, the championship is positioning the Middle East as a strategic hub for motorsport business, talent development, and innovation, creating opportunities for investors, sponsors, and the next generation of drivers aiming for Formula One.
